When it comes to a thing that means a lot to me, the gifted watch from my little sister pops up in my mind. It's a heart-shaped, olive green vintage-looking watch made of plastic. Although it is quite light, it is still smooth to the touch, the dial is slightly domed, and together it presents a delicate air.

I remember the time when I received it, I was completely caught off guard. I hadn't expected this — I didn't ask for anything, she just saved up for months to purchase it for me. I was deeply touched.

I use it to keep track of time on a daily basis. As you know, I'm studying in HK, miles away from my hometown, so whenever I see it, it reminds me of my little sister, which is also the reflection of our close relationship — the bond between us.

What makes it so special for me is that it reminds me of a particular time when I devoted myself to the final exam. I was stressed out and exhausted every day and I didn't want to have a big birthday party — I just wanted to stay quietly alone. However, my little sister gave me a big surprise; it shocked me from head to toe.

What I find most remarkable is that not only does it have a gorgeous look, but it is also equipped with some rather practical functions, like heartbeat detection — something I hadn't expected before.

Maybe one day, it will be out of fashion, and the wear and tear may result in its malfunction, but even until then, I'll never think about replacing it with the latest model, or throw it away.

When it comes to a person who has left a deep impression on me, my friend Lin, a passionate football player, immediately pops up in my mind. She's the kind of person who lights up a room the moment she walks in — energetic, warm-hearted, and always up for a challenge.

What sets her apart at first glance is her long flowing hair — it cascades down past her shoulders like a waterfall, jet-black and glossy. Most athletes I know keep their hair short for convenience, but she never lets that define her. On the pitch, she ties it into a high ponytail that streams behind her like a banner in the wind every time she sprints down the field, and off the pitch, she lets it loose — framing her sun-tanned face and sharp, determined eyes.

I still remember the first time we met. I was completely at a loss — new to the team, out of breath, and more or less ready to quit. But instead of leaving me behind, she jogged over, flashed me a grin, and said, "Just follow my lead — the goal isn't going anywhere." That one sentence took the pressure right off my shoulders, and we've been inseparable ever since.

On a daily basis, she's up before dawn, lacing up her boots while the rest of us are still half asleep. She has this iron discipline — rain or shine, she's out there putting in the drills. What I find most impressive is that she never treats training as a chore; she devotes herself to every session like it's a chance to push her limits.

What makes her truly special is a particular match I'll never forget. She had twisted her ankle two weeks before, and everyone told her to sit it out. But she showed up at the kickoff with her hair braided tight, jaw set, and played the entire match through gritted teeth. She didn't score, but the way she ran the full ninety minutes — limping but unbowed — shocked me from head to toe. That was the day I understood what real perseverance looks like.

What I find most remarkable about her is that, unlike most people who chase trophies, she plays for the joy of it, not the glory. She has a gift for making everyone around her want to be better — not by lecturing, but by simply being herself.

Looking ahead, even though we may end up in different cities after graduation, I know our bond will stay strong. Whenever I feel like giving up on something, I picture her long hair streaming in the wind as she charges down the pitch, and it reminds me to keep going. Maybe one day I'll become that kind of presence for someone else — the friend who makes you believe you can go the distance.
