1Describe a person who helps others / solves problems
2Describe a time you had to get up early
3Describe a problem with a computer / technology
4Describe a time you waited for a reply for a long time重点落在「等客户回复」那段
👤
A person who helps others / solves problems(乐于助人的同学)
I'd like to talk about my classmate who is a super helpful person. I still remember during my very first internship, when my laptop crashed out of nowhere, she stepped in immediately. It was early last year when I joined a well-established team at a tech company, which totally caught me off guard because I had to step outside my comfort zone. Just as I was getting used to the fast-paced routine, a big problem happened — in the middle of an urgent project, my laptop suddenly crashed and the system went completely black. I was extremely anxious and overwhelmed because I was supposed to contact a key client to confirm critical project details. Fortunately, one of my classmates also worked in this company in the IT department. Although she was very busy with her own work, she helped me fix my laptop right away. With her support, I finally solved the problem and finished my job. Actually, there are a couple of reasons why I wanted to talk about her. The main reason is that she is the person I can always count on, no questions asked. For instance, that day she dropped her own work and fixed my laptop within an hour. On top of that, talking to her is like a breath of fresh air — she always knows how to calm people down. So yeah, I guess that's why she means so much to me. Unlike most people who just say "good luck", she actually rolls up her sleeves and helps. It is her willingness to help that makes her so unforgettable. To be honest, I can't really picture my career without her in it. I'm pretty sure we're going to be in each other's lives for the long haul — I count myself incredibly lucky to have her as my classmate.
A time you had to get up early(实习期间每天早起)
I'd like to talk about a period when I had to wake up super early every day. It was early last year during my very first internship at a tech company. Unlike my university days when I used to stay up late and sleep in, I had to drag myself out of bed super early every morning to commute. The first few weeks were really tough — I was always half asleep on the bus, counting the minutes until my stop. But before long, I got used to the fast-paced routine and actually started to enjoy those quiet mornings. Then one morning, right when I got to the office, a big problem happened. In the middle of an urgent project, my laptop suddenly crashed out of nowhere, and the system went completely black. I was extremely anxious and overwhelmed because I was supposed to contact a key client that very morning. Fortunately, one of my classmates who worked in the IT department helped me fix it right away, and a senior colleague patiently taught me how to handle the client situation. Actually, there are a couple of reasons why this period stuck with me. The main reason is that it taught me real self-discipline. For instance, getting up early every single day made me plan my time far more carefully than I ever did at university. On top of that, it taught me the importance of teamwork — I couldn't have survived those early mornings without my classmates' and colleagues' help. So yeah, I guess that's why it became such a special memory for me. Unlike ordinary workdays that fade quickly, this one was a lesson I'll carry with me forever. It completely changed the way I approach difficulties and challenges. Looking ahead, I have no doubt that this early-rising habit will help me handle future challenges at work much better. I'm going to keep getting up early, even on weekends.
💻
A problem with a computer / technology(实习电脑崩溃)
I'd like to talk about a time I faced a major tech issue. It happened early last year during my very first internship at a tech company. In the middle of an urgent project, my laptop suddenly crashed out of nowhere, and the system went completely black. I tried everything — pressing the power button, unplugging the charger — but nothing worked. I was extremely anxious and overwhelmed because I was supposed to contact a key client to confirm critical project details that very afternoon, and all my files were on that laptop. Fortunately, one of my classmates also worked in this company in the IT department. Although she was very busy with her own work, she helped me fix my laptop right away — it turned out to be a hard drive issue, and she recovered almost every file. As for the client, a senior colleague patiently guided me on how to handle the situation. With their support, I finally solved the problem and finished my job. Actually, there are a couple of reasons why this event is so unforgettable. The main reason is that it gave me a whole new perspective on backing up my work. For instance, ever since that day, I've kept a copy of every important file in the cloud. On top of that, it taught me the importance of asking for help when needed — I mean, I used to believe in working independently, but that day I realised no one can handle everything alone. So yeah, I guess that's why it's become such a special memory for me. Unlike small tech glitches that fade quickly, this one was a lesson I'll carry with me forever. It is the moment the screen went black that made this problem so unforgettable. Looking ahead, I am going to back up my work regularly from now on, and I have no doubt this habit will save me from future trouble.
📧
A time you waited for a reply for a long time(等客户邮件)
I'd like to talk about a stressful time when I was waiting anxiously for a crucial email reply. It happened early last year during my very first internship at a tech company. At that time, my laptop had just crashed in the middle of an urgent project, and I was supposed to contact a key client to confirm critical project details. I finally got the laptop fixed, sent off the email — and then the waiting began. I checked my inbox every five minutes, refreshed it again and again, but there was no response for hours. The client was still ghosting me, and my entire task was put on hold. I was on edge the whole afternoon. In the end, I decided to ask my senior colleague for help. He patiently guided me on how to follow up politely but firmly, and we also tried a phone call — which finally got the client back to us. With his support, I finished my job just in time. Actually, there are a couple of reasons why this experience stuck with me. The main reason is that it taught me real patience. For instance, before that day I used to panic whenever things slowed down, but that afternoon taught me how to stay calm while waiting. On top of that, it gave me a whole new perspective on communication — I mean, sometimes a phone call works far better than another email. So yeah, I guess that's why it's become such a special memory for me. Unlike ordinary waiting that fades quickly, this one was a lesson I'll carry with me forever. It is the silence from the client that made this experience so unforgettable. Looking ahead, I have no doubt that this experience will help me stay calm under pressure at work, and I'm hoping to create more memories like this in the future.
